ARTIST STATEMENT I make art about basic life events-from the mundane to the seminal. I use an array of graphic images honed from natural and manmade sources to tell my visual stories. My imagery features birds, houses, boxes, eyes, balls, swimmers, power lines, moons and geometric shapes. These images act as a bridge for me to explore intangible ideas and subconscious thoughts about the world. My process is multidisciplinary and includes a lexicon of photography, computer, drawing, painting, printmaking and installation. The work is intentionally messy and tidy, clear and ephemeral, familiar and strange; perhaps reflecting a passion for continual exploration and my human need to create. |
